Bluegrass Oxygen Senior Management Team
Michael Marnhout,  President/CEO

Michael has worked in the homecare business since 1980 and opened his first medical equipment business in 1982.  Michael opened Bluegrass Oxygen in 1996 and as its President/CEO has expanded Bluegrass Oxygen to 6 locations that service well over 100 counties in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee.  Michael is a native of Lexington, Kentucky where he attended the University of Kentucky and played Football for the ‘Wildcats’.  Michael graduated from Cal Western in San Diego, California in 1975, with a BS in Business Administration.  Michael has served on the Board of Directors of the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation for five years, as well as being involved with the Lexington Clinic Foundation, University of Louisville Cancer Research Institute, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, American Heart Association, Special Olympics and numerous other charities.  Michael states that his mission at Bluegrass Oxygen is, ‘To afford each and every patient the highest quality of care possible, regardless of their ability to pay for our services.’

Craig Coleman, Vice President

Craig, a Registered Respiratory Therapist, joined Bluegrass Oxygen in February of 1999.  He currently serves as the Vice President, JCAHO Coordinator, and Privacy Officer for Bluegrass Oxygen.  Craig earned an Associate of Applied Science degree (Respiratory Therapy) in 1993, a Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) degree in 1994 and a Master of Busines Administration (MBA) degree in 1996.  He has worked in the home care field since November of 1996 and is a member of the Kentucky Sleep Society (KYSS), American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC), and the Kentucky Medical Equipment Suppliers Association (KMESA).    

Gary Marnhout, Regional Vice President

After a 4 year tour of duty as a Medical Corpsman in the United States Air Force, Gary attended Marshall Universtiy in Huntington, WVA where he worked as a nurse and attended classes.  After college he went to work for the State of West Virginia, where he served as an EMT Instructor to the Department of Mines, providing classes to mine operators and their staffs.

He began working in the HME industry in 1978 as a patient care representative for Glasrock Home Health Care.  He was promoted to Kentucky Administrator in 1980, managing 7 field offices and over 700 home oxygen patients.  He joined his family's venture in to the HME field in 1983 where he was Vice President in charge of marketing operations for its five locations.  After the company sold in 1993, he left the operation and began a new business venture in West Virginia, and stayed until 2001, when he rejoined his brother Mike Marnhout with Bluegrass Oxygen as its Regional Vice President.
 
Gary is currently based in Somerset, Kentucky and is active in his community having served as President of the Somerset Morning Rotary Club, and is a past Vice President and Board Member of the Lake Cumberland Performing Arts.  He has started a corporate scholarship program in conjunction with a local middle school to send a student annually to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.  At the beginning of his career in the HME field, he was elected as the first president of Kentucky's state HME organization, KMESA.

Bill Taylor, General Manager, Whitley City, Ky
 
Bill began working in the HME field in 1990.  He was trained as a delivery technician for one of the original offices begun by the Marnhout brothers in Southern Kentucky.  Since that time, Bill has continued to evolve in the business, having at one point been a part owner in a start-up business in his home town, to rejoining the Marnhout team and becoming the General Manager of the Whitley City office for Bluegrass Home Oxygen.  He has had extensive experience in the area of repairing the company's oxygen equipment, having been trained and certified by two manufacturers.  Bill's greatest strength is his ability to respond to the needs of his patients, and do so in a timely and caring manner.  Bill is currently a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and has served as a team leader for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society's Annual Relay For Life for ten years. 

Dennis Rider, RRT, GM, Cincinnati, Oh

Dennis, a Registered Respiratory Therapist since 1994, joined the team at Bluegrass Oxygen in the summer of 2001.   He is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Respiratory Care and minor background in Business Administration.  He serves as the General Manager of the Cincinnati office and also assists with the marketing aspect of the company.  He has extensive knowledge in the homecare and hospital environments.  He formerly worked at Claris Home Care where he served as Respiratory Manager and CPR instructor for seven years.   He also worked for thirteen years at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky, where he got his start in respiratory care.
